NABEF: Preparing Leaders at Every Level
The NAB Education Foundation (NABEF) is dedicated to providing continued education for broadcasters at all stages of their career. Leadership and development programs, along with a continued focus on increased diversity in broadcasting and a celebration of broadcasters' community service efforts, will be the focus of NABEF's renewed mission.
NABEF regards continued education for broadcasters as crucial for career enhancement, and our redefined mission further enhances the development of these educational programs while providing opportunities to broadcasters at every career level.
Three new NABEF initiatives have been established to increase the educational and training opportunities available for broadcasters: a university based program, the Technology Apprenticeship Program and a Leadership Development Program.

Collegiate Level
This university-based program (coming soon!), will target college students with an interest in broadcasting. It will launch in September 2011.
Freedom of Speech PSA Contest
A public service announcement (PSA) competition for college communications students that highlight the importance of free speech.

Media Sales Institutes
This highly successful program is designed to provide an entry into media sales for talented students of diverse backgrounds. Students are immersed in learning electronic media advertising sales and sales techniques during an intensive, 10-day program.

Technology Apprenticeship Program
The Technology Apprenticeship Program is a six-month program designed to expose high-tech graduates and professionals to the broadcast industry. The goal of the program is to provide participants with an opportunity to learn about latest trends in broadcast technology, receive hands-on training at a broadcast station and contribute a fresh perspective and innovative ideas to the industry.

The NABEF Leadership Development Program is a three-day seminar for broadcasters with three to seven years of experience seeking the leadership tools they need to advance to the next level in their career.

NABEF provides fellowships for women and people of color to attend NAB's Executive Development Seminar, a four-day seminar held each summer at the National Association of Broadcasters Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Broadcast Leadership Training
Broadcast Leadership Training (BLT) is a 10-month, MBA-style program dedicated to teaching the fundamentals of purchasing, owning, and operating radio and television stations to senior level broadcast executives who aspire to advance as group executives or station owners.

In addition to the training programs highlighted above, NABEF continues to promote the community service efforts of broadcasters through its annual Celebration of Service to America Awards. Additionally, career advancement resources will be offered through the NABEF Career Center and Career Day initiatives.
