Andrea Berry Communications
Andrea Berry serves as Senior Vice President, Media Services, Fox Networks Engineering and Operations (Fox NE&O) where she oversees all aspects of Digital Media Management for FOX, the Fox Sports Media Group and the Fox Networks Group. Ms. Berry’s responsibilities include managing the migration of the Fox facilities in Los Angeles from a traditional tape system to a digital-based system where Fox is able to ingest, track and catalog media that support not only internal groups but peripheral businesses that require the use of this media, such as VOD and other digital media platforms.
Prior to being elevated to her current position, Ms. Berry had served as Senior Vice President, Broadcast Operations, Fox NE&O since January 2004. In that role, she was responsible for all broadcast operations and transmission that support FOX and all of the Fox Networks’ cable entities. Ms. Berry joined Fox in 1996 as Vice President, Field Operations, Fox Sports Net (FSN) and was eventually elevated to Senior Vice President, Field Operations, FSN where she was responsible for the remote technical operations for Fox Sports’ live high-profile NFL, NASCAR and Major League Baseball telecasts; and for the remote technical operations of over 5,000 live national and regional telecasts on FSN.
Ms. Berry began her television career as a studio technician at WMAQ Chicago, an NBC owned-and-operated station. In 1984, she moved to CBS and served as Studio Technical Manager at the network’s New York City broadcast center. She later became CBS’ only female Field Technical Manager at the time, working on network sports, news and entertainment broadcasts. She finished her career at CBS in 1995 as the Director of Technical Operations at WBBM-TV, the CBS owned-and-operated station in Chicago.
At CBS and at Fox, Ms. Berry has received Emmy Awards for Outstanding Technical Team Remotes for the networks’ coverage of the World Series, figure skating at the Olympic Winter Games in Lillehammer, Norway, and for NASCAR.
Ms. Berry graduated from the Illinois Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a minor in Electrical Engineering. She also received an Executive Certificate in “Management and Leadership” from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Business and an Executive Certificate in New Media Management from the University of Southern California’s Marshall School of Business.
Currently, Ms. Berry serves as Chairperson for the Alumni Board of the Illinois Institute of Technology, and she is also a member of the university’s Board of Trustees. As an advocate for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education, Ms. Berry also assists in supporting the Middle School Girls Computer Discovery camp in Chicago at the Illinois Institute of Technology; a program that exposes young girls to the world of Computer Technology.
Ms. Berry also serves on the Board of the NAB Educational Foundation (NABEF). She volunteers in leadership positions for various non-profit organizations such as the Young Ambassadors Leadership Academy; the San Fernando Valley (CA) Chapter of Jack and Jill of America Inc. and Legacy Ladies, Inc. Ms. Berry also is a member of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) and Women in Cable Television (WICT), and sits on the Advisory Board of the Sports Video Group and the International Society of Black Latinos.
