Jack Sander

Jack Sander is a 40-year veteran of the broadcast industry and has worked for Belo Corp. since 1997, when he joined the company as executive vice president, Television Group. He served on Belo's senior management committee from 2001 until his retirement in December of 2006. He served as president, Television Group and then president, Media Operations from 2002 until early 2006 when he became vice chairman until his retirement. He continues to assist Belo on assigned projects.

A 1964 graduate of the University of Cincinnati, Jack began his career in television at WLWC-TV Columbus, in 1965 and moved to WTOL-TV Toledo, in 1966. He served in various sales and sales management positions at WTOL until 1978, when he joined WDSU New Orleans as station manager. He returned to Toledo in 1980 as general manager of WTOL.

In 1982, Jack joined KTSP-TV Phoenix, where he served as president and general manager until 1985. From 1985 until 1988, Jack was president of the television division of Taft Broadcasting with oversight of 12 television stations. Prior to joining Belo, he was general manager at WAGA-TV Atlanta from 1988 until 1997.

Jack served as chairman of the NBC Affiliates Board of Governors from 2000-2002, vice chairman of the Fox Board of Governors in 1995-96 and is past chairman of the Television Bureau of Advertising (TVB). In civic affairs, Jack has served on a number of nonprofit boards and was the 1995 chairman of the board of directors for the United Way of Metropolitan Atlanta. He is currently chairman of Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI).

Jack and his wife, Jeanne, have three married daughters and six granddaughters.
